Family photo session - What to expect

Family sessions are my favourite! I truly love documenting that special bond and happy moments that a family would treasure over time.

I offer outdoors or in-home sessions around North and Greater London ( Enfield, Harringay, Hampstead, Crouch End, Islington, Hackney ).

This greatly depends on the time of the year, weather and your preferences ( newborn sessions tend to happen at my clients’ homes for their convenience etc ). In-home sessions are lovely because they happen in your natural environment, people tend to be more relaxed at home, and this is overall a great way to make a family home part of your story.

These sessions last for about 1-2 hours, depending on what type of a photo shoot this is and whether a change of clothes or feeding a newborn takes place.

Prior to the session we would chat or email to discuss the location, wardrobe or talk over any questions my clients might have.

After the session I follow up with a couple of edited images for a preview and deliver the digital files within 2 weeks. Print orders would take another 5-7 days.

My photography style can be described as lifestyle and documentary, with some portraits thrown in for a balance. I prefer a relaxed photo session so I can capture that emotive connection and your interactions with one another because I do believe that this is what makes people cherish their family photos and want to have them taken.

This is also the reason why I offer photographic prints ( apart from saving you time looking for a good printing company ) - it’s lovely to have digitals to keep and, perhaps, share online, but it’s quite a different story when you have a favourite photo of your family adorning your walls.

I have been using a Scottish printing company called Loxley Colour for over 4 years now, for both my client and personal prints because of its outstanding quality and fast delivery.

Outdoor sessions are wonderful because a beautiful location serves as a frame for your photos. My sessions usually take place at our local Myddelton House Gardens or Forty Hall ( and other local green spaces ) that offer seasonal blooms which provide beautiful backdrop for a photo shoot.

I am happy to travel but travel fees may apply for areas outside Greater London.
